Saturday turned out to be a good day for feedsacks.
A really good day for feedsacks. Mrs. Vintage Soul and I made a road trip to an estate sale that promised "100 years of accumulation." Oh, music to our ears! Although there was not as much accumulation as the ad might have led us to believe, it certainly was worth the trip. Mrs. VS got some wonderful things, as I'm sure she will be showing you.
And while finding this many feedsacks on one stop (and there actually are about 10 more not on the clothesline) would normally have left me dizzy and giddy, this purchase involved counting and negotiating and a lot of back-and-forth, which aren't my strong suits, so I left feeling like I'd worked to get these. But once I got home and started looking them over, and especially after I got them washed up and hung out to dry, I was happy I got them. Most of these are full, and some are still stitched shut.
Isn't it remarkable how feedsacks always look so great together?
Especially when they're pink.
It might be feedsack overload, but I'll show you some more tomorrow. I need to sell a few of these to replenish the summer spending money account, and it might be a good chance to revisit the Etsy vs. eBay discussion from last week.
On a somewhat different note - my daughter was forced ever so happy to help me by modeling an apron for my Etsy shop. I like the daisies and her sweet little hand. I think she's got a real future in this.
I have been gone for a few days and missed your posts!! You made out like a bandit! Can I please be you when I grow up??? I want everything in every single one of your pictures!! You lucky lady!! Especially the blue star swanky swig!!!

Wowsers! That is alot of feedsack. They are doing well on Ebay now, better I think than a few years ago. I think I'd put them on Ebay and you might get some fierce bidding!

Isn't it just the sweetest thing to find treasures like that, to rescue them and give them new life again...
Lucky girl, I's jealous..

Who needs a laundry room if this is your washing line? I think they look so great together because it seems to me that the same colors are used in different patterns, thus tying everything together. Look at that pink!

Excellent!! I have a few bundles of feedsack fabric that my grandma gave me, and I always feel it's deserving of some special project - I'm just not sure what to do with it!

What a pretty group -- Where are you going to list those feedsacks? I'm think they would like to be in one of my quilts.
