Today's sale was the kind I wait for all year long, with a little of this and a little of that. Except this sale had a lot of this and a lot of that. Like box lots of Christmas ornaments. (Extra points if you find the kitty in the picture.)
Velveteen rabbits, much loved.
Including a patriotic banner made of tiny silky yo-yos.
A homemade housedress, bundled up in a box with some other things.
And an adorable dress for a little girl.
Some kitcheny things (a flour sifter and an oilcloth zipper bag - I don't know what that was used for, but it was cute, and 50 cents.)
A good old truck. (And a good old watering can, but I forgot to take its picture.)
Some sheets of valentines, uncut.
And a box with hundreds of these tiny metal things - horseshoes and stars and initials and a tiny hand with a pointing finger and the word INDEX. They have little sharp points so they can be punched into something, but I don't quite know what. (There's one for Wetmore's Little Major but I have no idea in the world what that is.)
Oh, and there were feedsacks. Pristine, perfect, never opened feedsacks. Wait til you see them in all their glory.
But first I need to sort through some of this fabric. Eleven boxes, which I managed to consolidate into eight.
So how do I rate this sale?
It wasn't too far away, I had a good number (16), it was a beautiful sunny day, I saw some old friends (hello, Laurie!) and made some new ones (you need to go see Patty's Etsy shop), I didn't spend over my budget and I came home with 11 boxes of fabric.
Yes, a perfect 10. Sales don't get any better than this.

I don't know why I keep coming back here because I am continually reduced to tears. Today is no exception.
Congratulations on this incredible score, even if those feedsacks are making me weep.

How do you find these sales? LOL. The Valentines are so stinking adorable! And, yes I see your kitty cat behind all those ornament boxes. And, wow unopened feedsacks! I really need to try my hand at estate sales one of these days. Guess I'm just too nervous. I'll stick to my church rummage sales for now.

Wow -- a ten apron sale! You are killing me with the the cuteness factor of all this stuff.
Fortunately, we all agree that you have way too much vintage fabric, so naturally I'm expecting most of the contents of these 8 boxes to show up on ebay/etsy. You can keep the floral with the blue background and the red and blue flowers, since I'm guessing it's one of your favorites :)

Holy Cow!! You are my hero! If those metal star things go on etsy I might have to get some! They are GREAT!

Jackpot! I am floored. Dumbfounded. Awestruck. Breathless. I'm coming your way one of these days, I swear! For some reason I see those little metal thingies on kids' vests- like from the old Frontier Town up north.
You have the gift, lady!

I just saw this post referenced on another blog, and I don't know how I missed this. Those bunnies make me want to weep for Easters gone by! And it makes me giddy to see someone come home with an amazing haul like this. Congrats!

Would you be willing to take a closer picture of the pattern on the child's dress? It looks so much like the material in a dress my mother had as a child.....
