It's been a long time since I stumbled across a supply of buttons. Possibly years. I bought some at the Bouckville show this summer, but it's not quite the same thrill as finding a cache unexpectedly.
So I was very excited to find a Mason jar filled with buttons Thursday. Usually jars filled with buttons have all kinds of useless and terrible-looking buttons. But this one was filled with the kind I like - bright colors and flowers and interesting shapes.
Clearly my button finder needs a little fine tuning, because upon realizing there were multiple jars, I thought: I should look these over and pick out the best one. Instead of instantly thinking: I should buy all of these.
Fortunately, I came to my senses in time. Ten quarts of vintage buttons, put up in Mason jars. I think this might be enough to get me through the winter months.

Some people can for the winter. Some people put up a supply of buttons to hold them over. Makes sense to me...

What a treasure trove you found! Some of them look truly unique. If anything, they'll keep you busy if you decide to sort them.

I feel that it is important to buy what you love in multiples whenever possible.... and that goes especially for buttons !

Those are definitely your colors and shapes! They look pretty nice just sitting in those jars.
