I made a quick detour into a thrift store today and found this spun-cotton Santa. I took it to the counter to buy. My timing was a bit off, as there was a couple in front of me buying a large amount of merchandise. In fact, their total came to more than $77. That was quite a feat, since most of what they were buying cost a quarter or so. The cashier was a very dear church lady volunteer. You cannot imagine how long this took.
I thought about leaving. At this particular thrift store it is necessary to remove every price tag and attach it to a sheet of paper for inventory control. This meant something like 280 price tags needed to be removed. Some of them were stick-on price tags that were difficult to remove. It was excruciating. I offered to help remove some of the price tags. It was that, or lose my mind.
Once home, however, I decided it was worth the frustration. If you go here and play the video, you will understand why I feel that way.
A spun cotton action figure. Worth every penny of the $1.08 I spent. And every minute I waited.

So, so cute!! A sweet treasure! xo Heather

Very cool-- and probably worth the wait. I know what you mean about thrift store check-outs! Usually managed by well-meaning but easily flustered seniors. That will never happen to me, right?? :)

How clever is that? I love the video and I would have totally waited too!

That video with you little fellow is too funny. Can you imagine the jagged ho, ho, ho he must say as he bounces down the pole. (I like to make the sound outloud when I see stuff like this)

Sometimes it is so hard to be patient but so worth it! Very cute!

We played the video three times, and I am sure we will watch it many more times between now and Christmas. Thanks! (I love how he stops with such finality, for lack of a better term.)
