You might recognize these birds from the work area cleanup photos. These little shelves (and the two blue ones just like them in the dining room) are probably one of my best yard-sale finds ever. And even though I have a complete and inexplicable lack of interest in valentines, the birds seemed tailor-made for little Valentines Day love.
Bird with fold-out bouquet of roses card and a lollipop holder. (I apologize for the lighting. It's an attic with dormers. Unless I bring in special lamps - and don't think that hasn't occurred to me - this is about as good as it will get.)
A favorite valentine postcard on the left, and a favorite card on the right. I do like this sort of 1930s valentine style, with illustrations that look as if they come from old reading primers. The little ceramic rose is part of a set of place card holders. It makes an excellent valentine holder.
A flower teacup and saucer, and an old postcard. I like the postcard because the little girl is holding a black and white cat.
Have any of you seen this blog? I like its wordlessness as much as the beautiful photos. I'm finding myself at a loss for words lately. However, I regained function in the part of my brain that enables me to put in links, so I'm making progress.
