Welcome to Show and Tell Sunday, the china and silver edition, hosted by Analise and Cerri. My house is not one where you'll find matching service for 12.
But tea for two? That we can do. The toast tray, bird napkin ring and silver sugar tongs all were yard sale finds.
The teacup was a gift from a friend who was moving away.
And this one was a gift from a friend who was de-cluttering.
Hope she de-clutters again soon.
The plates peeking out from underneath the saucer came from Nanny, my great-grandmother.
More pieces from Nanny.
Any silver I own is the kind I find at a yard sale. This was a lucky find - 12 monogrammed spoons, and the right monogram.
A few of my butter knives match, too. (Any tarnish you see is a figment of your imagination.)
But mismatched and loved before more often than not is what you'll find at my house.
OMG!! TO DIE FOR!!! WOW!!
Beautiful inspiring blog! Love your etsy too!

LOVELY! Those wonderful "finds" for me, add to the charm and sentiment one feels for these special pieces. In addition to enjoying your post, I spotted your vintage millinery over on Etsy and snagged me a couple pieces. Gorgeous stuff. Thanks for parting with it!

Oh what fun!! I love mismatched china, especially anything with roses. Too funny about the tarnished silver. I didn't think yours were tarnished. I didn't get mine out because I didn't feel like polishing it. LOL

I love the toast rack. Very Victoria magazine of you! I have a silver one that has unfortunately never held toast, just the mail. Maybe I'll get the twins used to the good life and serve their Zwieback (sp?) in the toast rack....

What beautiful photographs of your pretty patterns--the colors are so vivid. I especially like the lady teacup and the sweet little bluebird napkin ring.

Awww, love Nanny's pieces the very most. Although the toast tray is phenomenal too. Great post!

Vintage silver is one of my favorite things (I know, I know...I have a lot of favorite things). I am always looking for something engraved with my initials but the closest I've found is a hammered aluminum tray with a "J" in the middle (...and I love it!). Your pictures are beautiful.
