I needed a little junk-store therapy Saturday, and here's what I found. There's nothing quite as dear as a mail-order apron pattern.
The number of variations that apron designers could find is nothing short of amazing. You have to love a heart-shaped pocket.
This may be the perfect apron: the flowers, the scalloped hem, the bias-tape trim.
Although this apron seems like a good choice for a day when you have a long to-do list, the first item being "Gather eggs."
I've had quite a streak of finding apron patterns lately, and I can't remember if this was in the pile I got Saturday or one I found earlier. I love how it's made - there's one large body piece that is fitted with darts and fastened with a belt that buttons. If I were going to make it, I'd use that piece of feedsack in the background and red rick-rack.
Mail order patterns are the best! That second one is so sweet with the scallops and bias trim, love it. xo, suzy

I so wish I could be a stay at home mom again. If I could, I would wear a cute apron every day!
I have to admit, when our chickens first started laying eggs.... yes I had to go out in an apron to get them! It was way fun!

Makes me want to wear an apron everyday- not to cook or clean, just because they're cute.
You might already know this, but at one time there was a pretty good market for vintage apron patterns on ebay.

I love those aprons, but I never wear them. It's not in my system, though I tried hard.

Hmmmmm, I still need a better new apron (I do not like the yellow smock on at all), and that last one looks like a real possibilty. Easy to recreate and useful.
BTW, these are gonna be cha-ching! if you ebay them.

I love all those aprons! I especially love the little heart pockets! I love wearing aprons, but none of the ones I have are this cute.

Oh I love old patterns. These designs are wonderful. I'd live in an apron if I could. Now if I could only order those vintage bodies . . .
