A couple of quick pictures from a nice garage sale this morning. The square plates in back and the sugar bowl are made by Paden City Pottery; I haven't had a chance to look up the pattern yet.
From the same sale, a stack of milkglass plates. I can go either way on milkglass, but I liked this design a lot. The flower pin came from an estate sale that might be worth a couple of posts. It's the first time I've gone back to a sale the second day not to buy more, but because I had to find out who these people were. I'm glad I did. And I'll tell you all about Alice and Edna Monday, but right now, I'm going to paint porch furniture and soak up the sun.
Wonderful finds. Love the milk glass design too!

I like that milk glass, too. Why? It looks the most like jadite.
Great finds! Time for another party with the ladies!

I'm with you on the milk glass plates, I don't buy too much milk glass, but those plates are great and not something I have seen before. Just like milkglass, I think so many of the American dinnerware makers like Paden City are underrated, thise dishes are lovely.

Some milk glass is pretty wonderful, and I think those qualify as just that.

The plates are beautiful! I wish I lived in an area where I could find estate sales/yard sales like this! I love the history behind the pieces as much as the pieces themselves! I can't wait to hear about Alice and Edna!

Hey! That's what I've been doing the last couple days:painting porch furniture! Had to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather(80!). That milk glass is not your everyday milk glass. Very pretty! Looking forward to hearing about Alice & Edna!

Pretty dishes! If we were kids, I would always want to play at your house because you always have the best stuff. Not only am I catching up on your blog (I've been too busy saving puppies & orphans from burning buildings* to read many blogs lately) but I also wanted to tell you Llyn is having a giveaway to celebrate her one year blog anniversary and one of the prizes is a Swanky Swig glass with roses, so you should enter. http://llynm.blogspot.com/2009/04/bolgversary-giveaway.html
