I don't think I've ever bought keys before. I see them on a lot of blogs and in a lot of projects, but I had no idea how fun they were.
They're so graphic and interesting, and they've got all that great rust and patina.
They feel good, and I bet they sound good, too, jingling in a pocket.
I even like the box they came in.
It would make a good base for something.
If I were to grade the last three days of sale activity, I'd give Thursday a B+. Friday would get a D, and the only reason it wouldn't get an F is because the sales found new and different ways to be awful and annoying.
Today, though, was an A. The keys were just the start. I have a car to unpack and a Hoosier to scrub, and then I hope the light is good so I can take pictures.
Hope you're having a great weekend!
(p.s. I have several e-mails to answer, and the awful Typepad comment change is giving me fits, so don't get mad at me ifI've been out of touch - hoping to catch up soon.)
Here a key fan too!
I'm happy that you mention the typepad comment change, I was a bit worried that your were tired of my comments and not only you :-(
Hope you have a great weekend!

I am jealous! I LOVE old keys, and have never found any, except at the flea market where they were like $3 a piece. That box is great, too!!

Honestly, I've never thought about old keys before, but yours are so wonderful -- I love the shapes and the colors. I can't wait to see what other great things you found -- an "A" day for you is really something to look forward to.

Great keys and anxious to see what other treasures your "A" day produced!
I agree on that typepad comment thing - grrr! My mom gave me the heads up and asked my why I was replying to people's comments on my blog - I don't know how long it would have been before I noticed!!! Luckily I think I figured it out now.

Oh my goodness!! Those keys are wonderful!! A box like that around here would cost me an arm and a leg!! You are a lucky lady!!

First: lucky duck on the keys! Everyone in my area has clued in that they're in demand, and consequently they're always REALLY expensive.
Second: the new Typepad change SUCKS. Let's all protest it.

Hi Barbara! I'm experiencing some serious key love right now! So many different shapes and sizes. So pretty to look at!
Garage sale season seems to be winding down here. Although the quantity was there this weekend, the quality was NOT!

Boy, oh, boy- you DO find the greatest things. I collected old skeleton keys when I was little - still have them all, along with my key rack Daddy made for me. I treasure them still.
