Let's play a word game. Let's think of other words for "bad." Terrible. Awful. Pitiful. Lamentable. That's how the thrifting has been lately. It's taken me all week and several thrifting trips just to collect enough for a single post.
This was my only purchase last week: a blue tulip sugar bowl by Cronin China Co. I don't know why this pattern isn't more popular. (You can usually get it for a song on eBay.) It's so cheerful and sweet.
Yesterday's only find was this pretty bib apron, which appears to be in tip-top shape. It's nice that, if I'm not finding much, at least it all looks nice together.
Today's stop was better. I found the blocks in the first photo, and this pajama pattern.
We'll pull back from the pattern and see what's underneath. Hooray! It's feedsack. Not a whole feedsack but a nice print. And you know what was under that feedsack?
Yes, another one. With that telltale string that means it hasn't been opened.
Let's think of other words for happy. Glad. Delighted. Gleeful. All of those.
Well, the way you've shown your finds here... they don't look bad at all! In fact, I just love the sugar dish, the pattern and the feed sack! The bib apron is wonderful too. Lovely finds, I think!!!

Those kids in the white pajamas look like miniature dentists, but I love that pattern....and the apron and the feedsacks. And that sugar bowl -- I've never seen that pattern before, but now I'm on my way to ebay to see what I can find. I love tulips!

I would be giddy, overjoyed and ecstatic if I ever found any feedsack! Thrifting and estate saling has been atrocious here. I wasted so much time standing outside waiting to get into two sales, and all I came away with was a sneezing fit from all of the dust in one of the houses!

It must be an international conspiracy. I had almost nothing thrifting on Rotterdam's flea market. I didn't buy: 5 keys eur. 7,50 (10 usd!), a book with a few lovely drawings, usually 1 euro now 5! A victorian hand clasp 15 euro, I loved it but I thought it was too expensive anyway. Now I had: a very small money tin, I use it in the toy shops and a mending tool, like a wooden toadstool, meant for mending socks, now I have 2 different ones and I only need one to have a collection.

Deplorable, despicable, depressing! Those are just a few of the words that describe thrifting in Scottsdale, AZ!! Glad you are having better luck!

Don't feel bad. I stopped at three thrift shops today and came home empty handed. I must say you have a way of making meager finds look great!

Well, it all looks good to me! I'd love to see the entire apron, I just can't get enough of them! Feedsacks? It's been YEARS since I've found any! So, it can always be worse, right?

It sure was no "mishap" that you found those great treasures ~ just think of the "tragedy" it would have been if you came home empty handed! With sooo many people thrifting, finds are getting scarce, but, it doesn't seem that way for you!! Good job ~ Judi

Feb/March are typically slow months for thrifting. I have just been finding things again after almost two months of dullness. THe weather is getting warm though so yard sales are not far off1

Good finds as usual! Adorable pattern -
If it happens to be a size 3 or 4.... are you up for a trade of some kind?

Good finds, even if they were spaced out! I haven't done a lot of thrifting lately, but a couple of weeks ago I had splendid luck-- I found an antique pie safe for $89. It's made from old crates (says Singer Sewing Machines on the back) and is painted green. I haven't posted any pictures of it on my blog yet, but it's a really neat piece of furniture! We needed kitchen storage, so I love it.
Oh, and on an entirely different note - yes, get some goats!! They are so friendly and curious.

That apron is really cute :)
How can you tell if a fabric is a feedsack? I have no idea what to look for.
