It's a good night at an auction when a) you get to take a previously unknown shortcut on a road named Whiskey Hill b) the box lots you want are among the first ones to come up and c) you bring home buttons, including some in a Christmas tin.
It's a good night when the box lot of buttons has some surprises, including a collection of needle books. That's a very patient elephant, letting the chimpanzee stitch up his ear like that.
And it's a good night when your Jadite collection takes a big leap forward with a single bid. (These are pieces 40 through 55 now, or something like that.)
Oh, but what you really wanted to know was: Who won the bedjacket? Through the magic of the random number generator, here's the comment left by the winner: Enter me please! I think its adorable! I'm not sure but this might be my first time commenting in the year or 2 I have been reading! Cheers!!!
Miss Acorn, I just sent you an e-mail, but if you read this first, send me your address!
Finally, thanks to all of you who shared your nickname stories. Corkie, Whitless, Peggy - the indignities just go on and on!
So in love with all those buttons and that tin with the elephant is adorable.

What a great score with the Jadeite, and I love the graphics on those old needle books. From the peek of your buttons, it looks like you'll have a lot more fun sorting through these than the last batch.

There are auctions at night? Wow, that must be nice, when there aren't any garage or estate sales to go to. The Jadeite is lovely, and that monkey needs to tighten his stitches!

Oh my gosh, that elephant needle book is adorable. A little disturbing, but adorable (a tough combo to pull off - good for you, needle book!).

Lucky you. I love auctions but sometimes I get carried. That's real money you're bidding and sometimes you just have to let things go...

I have to chuckle because your "break" has consisted of 6 days. I'm pushing a month here...not really sure, it may be longer! Then again, if I was finding the treasures you do, I'd be shouting from the rooftops, too! You must live right, Barbara!
