In a perfect world, I would not be selling this quilt.
In a perfect world, this quilt would be on my bed, which would be an antique pencil-post bed in a large but sparsely furnished bedroom. With a large window that framed a magnificent view of the Vermont countryside. The hilly, dotted-with-farms part of the Vermont countryside. ("Vermont must be beautiful this time of year..." - know the movie that line is from?)
In fact, in a perfect world you would see this quilt on the bed in "Country Living," where my house would be featured, and you would agree with the writer who comments that what makes this quilt so great is that it is old but it is happy. It has all those somber dark homespun checks and the black-and-white shirtings, but combined with the brightest colors.
Pink and purple and orange, and here and there a little red and green.
Alas, this is not a perfect world. The quilt's on eBay this week. My virus came back, and I had to call in sick yesterday. Mad Men is over for another year, and Don Draper is ...engaged?
I came home from work early today, and I'm going to lie down. Underneath a quilt. But not this one. It is not a perfect world.
(And the movie, before I forget, is White Christmas. I love that movie. It's possibly also the reason I love Vermont.)
I love this quilt..I'll look on your ebay link! Hope you feel better soon! When you can stop by...come and enter my giveaway! ♥ Hugs! ♥

Especially in the winter.

It may not be a perfect world but that is one cute quilt. I love old Christmas movies and that is the top of the list. but have you ever seen Holiday Inn? another great one. I think they used the same house.

Oh, come on - of course I knew it was "White Christmas"!! My favorite!
Vermont must be beautiful this time of year....all that snow.
Snow, snow, snow , snow, snow! It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow...I want to wash my hands, my face, my hair with snow.....
I miss everybody who was in that movie.

That is a sweet quilt. I love your perfect world!
Speaking of snow, we went to Flagstaff last week and there was snow on top of one of the mountains and the aspens were bright yellow! What beauty!

Of course I knew it was White Christmas! One of my favorite movies, and part of the reason I wanted to marry Bing or Fred Astaire as a little girl- kinda weird for a kid in the early 80s, but I always was a little different!

In my perfect world, I would be there in your home for the Country Living photo shoot, styling the shot. And neither one of us would be sick.
Still have not watched Mad Men. On the to-do list.

One of these days I've simply GOT to visit Vermont in the fall. Sorry you're feeling under the weather. That is one beautiful quilt.

Are you talkin' about that perfect world where I perpetually weigh 115 lbs, my boobs are so perfect I don't even need to wear a bra and my husband washes his own underwear?
And Don Draper engaged? I did not see that one coming.

In a perfect world, my dear, that quilt would be on its way to my house. LOL! I sure wish I'd seen it sooner. It's so cheerful and lovely! I don't know how you part with some of the things that you do. It must be so hard sometimes.
So many folks have been ill already this year. I sure hope things calm down soon.
Take care.
