(Which is just another way to say: I got out a few Easter things this weekend. And I did some sewing. This sewing and finishing things routine is pretty nice.)

Dear Quilty Friends (you know who you are),
For years I have been following your blogs.
Admiring your work. Often envying it.
Thinking I'd like to do that sometime. Especially with all that vintage fabric I've tucked away. But wondering where you ever found the time.
But then I had an epiphany. As in: sometimes you just make the time.
So I did.
And now my quilt top is finished!
(The other half, more or less.)
You'll be there with advice on the quilting part, right?

I have not changed my mind one bit about the good feelings that come with finishing a project.
I did change my mind, though, about the project. Because it occurred to me that in the time it would take me to hand-sew all the tiny little pieces in this project,
I could start and finish something a little more substantial.
Although I am the first to admit that starting a new project is contrary to my goal of getting things done,
I have a good feeling about the possibilities of completing this one. By my calculations, it will take roughly ten times the number of squares here to make a quilt top.
Minus one! Ha! I told you I had a good feeling about this!

I could get used to this whole finished-project feeling. It's unfamiliar. But nice.
My little quilt is all stitched.
Bound with a feedsack print.
And hung on the wall.
I need some cheerful colors these days. It's been on the overcast side. To put it mildly.
As it turns out, I have quite a bit of this quilt print fabric. Would you like some? Leave a comment and I'll mail a panel of it (same size as this one ... maybe 25 by 30 ish?) to a winner. Or two. I have LOTS. It's small and light, so I'm happy to mail it internationally. I'll announce the winner Monday morning, so get your comment in before that.
Meanwhile, I'm going to get back to work on this project. I'm going to feel really good when it's done, I can just tell.
