My purchases tend to be small in size, because I have a small house, a small car, and no great desire to figure out how to ship big, heavy things.
Saturday's finds were mostly big, though - big in size, and big bargains, too. Finding a chest and a birdcage on my first stop made me glad that though my car is small, the back seats fold down.
And once the back seat was down, there was no reason to leave behind the ferris wheel for flowerpots at my next stop. For reasons I cannot explain, these things delight me no end. Filling it up with flowers is going to be fun.
The birdcage will probably end up in a garden, too, but I don't quite know where yet.
Some miscellaneous, including the largest of the Pyrex mixing bowls, in keeping with the big theme. I almost didn't go out today because the sales didn't look all that great, and neither did the weather, and yesterday's estate sales (multiple sales, and I was #2 at one of them) were quite disappointing. But there probably won't be a lot of sale action next weekend because of the holiday, and there's really only so long a person should go without junking. It's not healthy.
I don't look much for linens these days, but this one was pretty, and it came from the same home as the wooden rack, which I like a lot. Funny story about this sale: I got there a little on the early side, and I recognized a dealer whose tastes are very similar to mine already on site, and I kind of swore under my breath (confession is good for the soul) because I figured she'd already gotten all the good stuff. Turns out it was her sale! Hurray! I got some other things from her, including some nice millinery and a beautiful old dress, but since we're only alloted five minutes of sunlight a day these days, I didn't get photos of them.
My big find of the day - bargain-wise and weight-wise - was this great old typewriter. (I felt as if I'd channeled my inner Gina.) When your first find of the day is a typewriter, it's going to be a good day.
